Contractors & Architects
Need help with framing layout?
Planning a deck inset or crane placement?
When installing hot tubs recessed into decks, full clearance for cabinet access panels and cover lifter brackets must be maintained. Ensure you leave adequate crawl space, trap doors, or removable wood panels for future water care or pumps maintenance.
We work closely with local structural engineers, architects, and framing contractors across Anchorage and Eagle River to coordinate framing, electrical runs, and crane lifting hooks.
Watkins Engineering Standards
- ✔ **Flat Base:** Concrete pads must be at least 4″ thick and level.
- ✔ **Weight Rating:** Spas weigh 3,000–6,000 lbs filled; decks must support 100–125 lbs/sq ft.
- ✔ **Electrical Runs:** 240V lines should feed from structural conduit panels.
- ✔ **Access Panel:** Leave a minimum 3-foot clearance for service panels.
